Sweeney Todd auditions – seeking strong singer-actors

Platte Valley Theatre Arts (PVTA) is excited to announce auditions for our fall musical, Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

PVTA adheres to the Community Standards for Theatre for Colorado as set forward by the Colorado Theatre Guild.

PVTA is a non-professional community theatre and cannot provide AEA Contracts. But PVTA is able–with generous sponsorships/grants–to provide stipends to performers. The stipend for performers in this show will range from $200-$500 depending on role.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Please note there is a form linked there that MUST be filled out by July 10 in addition to signing up for an audition slot.

We are seeking strong singer-actors with excellent musicianship, emotional depth, and a willingness to explore the show’s dark themes, complex characters, and striking theatrical style.

Seeking 20 actors to play principle, supporting and ensemble roles – including one teenage role. All actors must be at least 18 at the time of auditions unless auditioning for the role of Tobias.

Most roles will speak with a British accent.
