Show:                    Scrooge in Rouge, an English Music Hall “Christmas Carol”

Synopsis

This quick-change, cross-dressing version of the Charles Dickens classic is set in a Victorian music hall. The 20-member theatre company beset with food poisoning has only three surviving members to perform A Christmas Carol. The undaunted trio gamely face missed cues, ill-fitting costumes, and solving the problem of having no one to play Tiny Tim.

Cast Needed

·         Charlie Schmalz, a character actor

·         Lottie Obbligato, a singing soubrette

·         Vesta Virile, a “male impersonator”

The roles are not gender-specific. Feel free to come in drag (especially if you are interested in the role of Vesta Virile).

Audition Dates

·         September 21st (Saturday), from 1 – 4pm; September 22nd, 10am – 12pm

·         If needed, callbacks will happen on Sunday at 12pm.

Audition Requirements

·         Come prepared with 24-32 bars of instrumental/karaoke music (on a thumb drive). Song style is to be fun, early Broadway/Vaudeville.

·         Sides will be provided for reading.

·         Please bring a copy of your headshot & resume.
