Assistant to the Artistic Director

Visionbox Studio Theatre 501(c)3 is seeking a qualified student or professional interested in a professional acting and/or directing career to assist the Artistic Director, Jennifer McCray Rincon, in the day-to-day operations of the company. This is a part-time position with a minimum of 20 hours of work per week. Schedule to be determined by candidate and Ms. Rincon, with some flexibility. The qualified candidate will have some college theatre training and/or professional theatre experience. A BA or BFA in Acting, Directing, or Theatre Studies is preferred, but not required. The assistant will work with Ms. Rincon in the day-to-day office work including emails, meetings with staff, Board members and donors, organizing schedules, assisting with casting, social media, marketing, and coordinating rehearsals and classes.

This position is ideal for someone interested in applying for graduate schools in acting or directing or anyone interested in artistic direction/management of non-profits. The position will also be able to take all Visionbox classes free of charge, including acting and directing training. Persons interested in directing will also have an opportunity to assistant direct Visionbox productions, as well as direct their own projects. Those candidates more interested in acting will have not only the opportunity to train with Ms. Rincon, but will be cast in Visionbox productions while becoming part of the Visionbox professional Ensemble.

Jennifer McCray Rincon, Founding Artistic Director of Visionbox, is a graduate of Yale University and the Yale School of Drama Directing program. She was the Head of Acting at the National Theatre Conservatory for almost 2 decades and founded Visionbox in 2010 with her colleague, actor Bill Pullman. Visionbox Studio remains one of the only professional actor training studios in Colorado, that also produces new intermedia work, focusing on the social and human issues of our time.

Payment is $200 per week minimum,  the qualified candidate may also take all Visionbox classes as well as private coaching free of charge.
