Meet Margot, a 30-something Tejana who works at a beloved whata-sized Texas burger joint. The Christmas Eve overnight shift is her personal tradition – even if that means spending the holiday dealing with grumpy drive-thru customers and an equally grumpy robotic Santa. But when her dead best friend Jackie Marley drops by to warn her of impending late-night visits by spirits, Margot has no choice but to roll with the punches and confront the very Scrooge she’s become. It’s a Christmas Eve like none other in this brand-new holiday show filled with humor and heart set in H-town by Texan playwright Isaac Gómez.
Role
Note: This is a one-person show. MARGOT will be the sole live actor on stage. Some singing is required in this show, but you do not need to be vocally trained. (Two Christmas songs and an original written for this play).
MARGOT – A Scrooge. Born Margarita Adelina Maydenita Chihuahuita Adelante Sabado Gigante Muñoz. But that’s only for family. To everyone else, she goes by Margot.
When possessed by spirits, she also plays:
JACKIE – a Jacob Marley, of sorts
CLYDE – in the realm of Christmas Past
RICO – in the realm of Christmas Lost; a Tiny Tim left behind
GRACIE – in the realm of Christmas Present
DOLORES – a warning akin to a Christmas Yet to Come
Audition Info
Seeking
Latina/Latinx/Latine person who can play a female-presenting Tejana between 25-35 years old (one actor plays multiple characters throughout)
Dates
Sunday, August 16th from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
If deemed necessary, callbacks will be held Sunday, August 23rd from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Headshot (or other photo of yourself) & acting resume.
Prepare
Auditions will consist of readings from sides. Please choose one of the two sides to present, but be prepared to read both if requested. We are specifically looking for your ability to switch characters and hold conversation between multiple characters.

Clyde – Older Man with Southern Accent, in the realm of Christmas Past
Grace – Late friend of Margot’s mother, in the realm of Christmas Present

Please sign up for one time slot. Auditioners in each hour will be seen in the order they arrive. You do not need to stay for the entire hour.
Video Auditions
Will be accepted until August 13th, although it is preferable that actors audition in person when possible. Please email your submissions to brandonlopez.theatre@icloud.com
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin on or around Monday, October 19th. The schedule will be based on actor and production team availability.
Performances
Performances run December 1st through December 23rd.
Performances are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 7:30
There may be additional dates added within the run pending cast availability. Please reserve Thursdays, December 10th & 17th as potential added performances.
Compensation
Actor will receive a $100 travel stipend and $65 per performance
