Title: Romulus
Genre: Drama
Logline: A volatile, emotionally guarded teenage boy attempting to find his dysfunctional mother on the Fourth of July, after being abandoned with his stern grandmother.
Hello! My name is Rayonna Price and I am producing a University of Colorado Denver Senior Thesis Film. Written and Directed by Saroja Manickam, Romulus is a coming-of-age film that explores the themes of generational trauma and grief.
We are currently casting for ALL ROLES! Lead role and supporting will be COMPENSATED!
Cody (13-15, Male, LEADING): An emotionally guarded teenager grieving his mother’s abandonment. Must be comfortable with profanity and mature themes.
Maggie (20’s-30’s, Female, Supporting): Cody’s mother, a dysfunctional woman who loves fiercely but without stability. She struggles with her mental health and substance abuse, complicating her ability to parent.
June (60’s, Female, Supporting): Cody’s grandmother, a blunt, no-nonsense woman guarding her guilt. Her love isn’t always tender but it’s constant.
Young Mother (20’s-30’s, Female, Extra): A mom Cody mistakens for his own
Young Cody/Child (5-10, Male, Extra): A younger Cody and the son of the mother Cody mistakes as Maggie.
As of right now, this is a non-union, independently-funded student production.
We are able to provide a stipend of $150/day for the child actor playing Cody (estimated 4-6 days of work), and $125/day for the actresses playing Maggie (estimated 2-3 days of work) and June (estimated 3-4 days of work).
We are unable to provide compensation for additional roles, but snacks and meals will be provided on shoot days, and transportation can be arranged if necessary. We will provide footage for reels as soon as possible.
Our tentative shooting dates are October 9-11 and October 16-17 in Denver, subject to slight change.

All In-Person Auditions will take place on September 5th-6th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Denver Public Library: Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch Library on the second floor conference room.
