Director’s Notes on the Show

It’s Britney, bi*ch.

This production is built around high-energy, commercial-style dance and larger-than-life storytelling. We are looking for performers who aren’t afraid to commit, take risks, and have an incredible time on stage.

Expect a dance call rooted in 90s hip hop, commercial jazz, and musical theatre. Choreography will move quickly, and we are looking for performers with strong technique, musicality, performance quality, and stamina.

With the exception of the Narrator, Fairy Godmother, and Stepmother, every performer should be an exceptional dancer with an obscene amount of personality. If your dream has always been to perform in a Britney Spears concert, this is your moment!

Available Contracts

This production will utilize 20 Actors and Understudies, as well as up to 6 off-stage Swings. 

All roles are open to actors of all ethnicities/races, gender identities, and abilities. All are welcome and encouraged to audition.

All roles are paid a $500 rehearsal stipend and a per show rate between $50 and $75.  Swings are paid a $500 rehearsal stipend and $100 per week on-call stipend for the run, plus a $70 per-show rate for any shows they cover.

No AEA/Equity contracts are available for this production.

Audition websites often repost our audition notices on their sites without our permission. This audition call is only for actors local to Colorado, or those with housing options in Colorado. Town Hall Arts Center is not able to offer housing or per diems.

Saturday August 29, 2026 – 10am to 3pm (will extend to 5pm based on necessity)

Requirements

• 32-ish measures of a pop/rock song.
  • Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.
• One-minute contemporary/comedic monologue.
• Hard copy of headshot and resume (please also upload a digital copy prior to the day of auditions at the link below)

Video Submissions

If you are unable to attend in-person auditions, you may send a video submission. The deadline to submit video submissions is 11:59pm on Thursday August 27th.

Please send video submissions to thacauditions@gmail.com and it will be forwarded to the Directing Team. Please ensure videos are unlocked/are not set to private so the Directing Team may view them.

Invited callbacks will be held on Saturday September 5th – 12pm to 5pm

Character Breakdown

All roles are open to actors of all ethnicities and racial backgrounds unless otherwise indicated in the script.

Cinderella (F)

• Age: 20’s-30’s
• Vocal Range: E3-E5
• Dance: Dancer
• A fresh contemporary heroine. Looking for an imaginative actor ready to create a version of Cinderella unlike any audiences have seen before. Excellent singer. Excellent dancer. Strong comedic instincts with genuine emotional depth.

Snow White (F)

• Age: 20’s – 30’s
• Vocal Range: F3-D5
• Dance: Dancer
• Confident, quirky, and hilarious. A fearless comedic actor with exceptional vocal ability and elite dance skills. Must be able to commit fully to the comedy while remaining grounded and truthful.

Narrator (M or Masc presenting)

• Age: 30+
• Vocal Range: Flexible
• Dance: Mover
• A gifted storyteller with warmth, wit, and charisma. Looking for an actor who can reinvent a familiar fairy tale narrator with originality and humor. Singing and dancing requirements are minimal, but this performer must move well and confidently carry the audience through the story.

Stepmother (F)

• Age: 40+
• Vocal Range: E3-Bb5
• Dance: Mover
• Powerhouse character role. Sharp comedic timing, commanding stage presence, and strong vocals. Movement is required, but personality is everything.

OFG – Original Fairy Godmother (F or Fem presenting)

• Age: 40+
• Vocal Range: C4-B4
• Dance: Mover
• Larger than life. Warm, funny, wise, and effortlessly commanding. An excellent singer with exceptional comedic instincts and strong acting skills. Movement is important, but charisma and stage presence are the priority.

Prince Charming (M)

• Age: 20’s-30’s
• Vocal Range: Bb2-B4
• Dance: Dancer
• A true triple threat. Charming, athletic, funny, and endlessly charismatic. Excellent singer, elite dancer, and confident comedic actor with strong leading-man energy.

Clumsy/Fool (M or Masc presenting)

• Age: Any
• Vocal Range: Flexible
• Dance: Dancer
• Cute. Adorkable. Awkward. Looking for a physical comedian with impeccable comic timing, expressive movement, and outstanding dance ability.

Stepsisters Belinda and Betany (F)

• Age: 20’s-30’s
• Vocal Range: G3-F5
• Dance: Dancer
• Loud, funny, specific, and randomly scary and over-the-top. Strong character actors with excellent comedic chemistry, solid vocals, and exceptional dance skills. Will double as other princesses.

Princesses (F or Fem presenting)

• Age: 20’s-40’s
• Vocal Range: Varied
• Dance: Dancer
• Character actors! We’re looking for versatile performers who create distinct, memorable characters with bold choices, sharp comedic instincts, and unique personalities. Excellent singers and exceptional dancers. Actor tracks may portray multiple princesses such as Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Princess and the Pea, Little Mermaid, etc.

Princes (M or Masc presenting)

• Age: 20’s-40’s
• Vocal Range: Varied
• Dance: Dancer
• Triple threats with serious pop-star energy. Think backup dancers for Britney Spears: athletic, stylish, charismatic, and completely committed. Strong singers, fearless dancers, and excellent comedic performers.

Town Hall Arts Center Operating Statement

By acknowledging this statement, you confirm your understanding that Town Hall Arts Center operates as a Semi-Professional Theater and not a Regional, Equity, LORT, or Professional Theater. While THAC is proud of the high-quality productions we have come to be known for, and the fact that we pay our artists comparable to or better than other local non-professional theaters, we are not currently able to operate as a living wage theater. We are also financially unable to offer amenities often available at Equity or LORT level houses. We are entirely transparent about our pay scale from the moment auditions are announced; in our offer letters; and as disclosed in our contracts. By receiving this statement, auditioning, signing a contract, and acknowledging this statement, you are stating that you are ready and willing to performing duties as specified in your contract, and have been made aware of THACs:

Rehearsal stipends – THAC pays a rehearsal stipend. While professional theaters have the resources to pay actors per day or per week from first rehearsal to closing performance, we are not able to do so at this time. Our stipends are offered in good faith to assist contractors offset costs accrued during the process.      

Performance pay – THAC will compensate every performer for every performance, as well as additional rehearsals after opening (such as put-in/Swing rehearsals) at the contracted per-show rate.      

Rehearsal schedules – THAC is entirely transparent about the rehearsal schedule from the time auditions are announced; in our offer letter; and as disclosed in our contracts. Performers who are cast in our productions will be expected to attend every rehearsal to which they are called unless conflicts were approved prior to casting. The Directing Teams will do their best to not call actors who are not in the scenes/songs being worked and will release actors at a point when they are no longer being utilized in rehearsal. While we work hard to respect everyone’s time, there will be instances when an actor will have down time at rehearsal. We encourage you to use down time to work independently on your materials.
