Every Brilliant Thing
By Duncan Macmillan
Directed by Mike Monroney
You’re six years old. Mom’s in the hospital. Dad says she’s “done something stupid.” She finds it hard to be happy. So you start to make a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Everything that’s worth living for. 1. Ice cream. 2. Kung Fu movies. 3. Staying up past your bedtime and being allowed to watch TV. 4. The color yellow. You leave it on her pillow. You know she read it because she’d corrected your spelling. Soon, the list will take on a life of its own. A play about depression and the lengths we will go to for those we love.
Rehearsals start on August 10, 2026
Opens September 11, 2026
Closes September 27, 2026

Beyond Reason
By Kristin (K.D.) Carlson
Directed by Missy Moore
***This is a World Premiere***
Beyond Reason imagines a turn-of-the-century battle of séance versus science, fueled by a group of spirited women, determined to use every power they possess to claim a voice at the table—even if they have to levitate it to be heard.
It’s 1885, and William James, the father of American Psychology, has invited two mediums, with radically different methods, to his home for a weekend of psychic investigation. While he is intent on employing scientific methods to measure supernatural forces, the women he assembles are on a mission of their own: to exercise agency over their bodies, minds, and spirits within their tightly circumscribed lives.

The Shark is Broken
By Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon
Directed by TBA
The first summer blockbuster movie is being filmed — but no one working on the film would know it. Dive deep into the tumultuous, murky waters of the making of a major motion picture with testy, feuding costars, unpredictable weather, and a shark prop whose constant breakdowns are looking like an omen for the future of the movie. In this comedy co-written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, the short tempers of Jaws stars Robert Shaw (father of co-writer Ian), Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider take center stage as they bond, argue, drink, gamble, and pray for an end to the shoot, not knowing it will change their lives forever.

Closes February 28, 2027
Characters:
Richard Dreyfuss – Male. Age range – 25 – 35.

The Revolutionists
By Lauren Gunderson
Directed by Kate Gleason
Four beautiful, badass women lose their heads in the irreverent, girl-powered comedy set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793 Paris. This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world. It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection…that ends in a song and a scaffold.
Rehearsals start on March 29, 2027
Opens April 30, 2027
Closes May 16, 2027
Characters:
Olympe de Gouges – Female. 38. Badass activist playwright and feminist. Theatre nerd, excitable, passionate, a showman. Widowed and never remarried to ensure her personal freedom.
Charlotte Corday – Female. 25. Badass country girl and assassin. Very serious, hardened by righteousness, never been kissed. Has a pocket watch she keeps checking.
Marie Antoinette – Female. 38. Less badass but fascinating former queen of France. Bubbly, graceful, opinionated, totally unaware, unintentionally rude, and oddly prescient. Never had a real friend.
Marianne Angelle – Female. 30’s. A badass black woman in Paris. She is from the Caribbean, a free woman, a spy working with her husband, Vincent. Tough, classy, vigilant, the sanest one of them all.
Casting is open to all genders, ethnicities and ages.
All roles are paid. Minimum of $1150 depending on project and TRTC will consider equity contracts.
