Job Description:

Theatre Aspen is seeking a Lighting Designer for our Fall Education production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Designer will be responsible for…

Designing a lighting plot and programming lighting cues to complete the design
Plan and execute all lighting hang and wiring necessary to execute the plot
Support provided by space Production Manager and/or Theatre Aspen Technical Director
Running light board for duration of performances (negotiable based on availability)
Participating in weekly production meetings as scheduled with the Artistic Team
Production meetings will be held virtually prior to arrival in Aspen

Venue: The Black Box Theatre at Aspen High School

Schedule:

Arrival Wednesday November 2nd by 3:30pm

Departure on Sunday November 13th between 5-6pm following strike (if running board)

Departure on Friday November 11th in the morning (if not running board)

 

Designers must be able to commute up to Aspen. Travel mileage will be reimbursed and time compensated for as part of the total designer fee. It is recommended that designers travel by car to Aspen, it will ease the trip and provide more effective transportation between housing and the theatre.

 

Designer will have free time outside of rehearsal & hang hours, rehearsals are held in after school afternoon/evening hours.

Job Type & Compensation:

Part-time, Temporary, Contract

$1,250 Designer Fee (fee will vary depending on if you are running the board for performances)

Mileage reimbursement at $0.58/mile

Additional travel time stipend TBD by length and style of commute

Housing provided by Theatre Aspen
