What to Prepare

Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue and be prepared for cold reads from the script. Please also bring all conflicts for the rehearsal period.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will begin in October. Depending on cast availability, there will be a read-through on either September 14th or 16th.

WHEN: Regular rehearsals will be Mondays, Wednesday, and some Fridays,
7:00pm to 9:30pm, October 5th- November 23rd

WHERE: Manhattan Middle School, 290 Manhattan Drive in Boulder.

Performance Schedule:

WHEN: Performances are Thursday through Sunday, December 3rd-13th
Evening performances begin at 7:00pm.
Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00pm.

WHERE: Dairy Arts Center, 2590 Walnut Street, Boulder, CO

These are LIVE THEATER roles. All positions are unpaid.

Whatever policy we and The Dairy have in place regarding COVID, actors will not wear masks during performances.

ALL actors and technicians must be at all Tech Week rehearsals. Costume and technical work will take place throughout rehearsals and on weekends. As TUC is an ensemble company, our performers, members, and volunteers make up this crew. Cast members are expected to contribute time to the Tech crews during the rehearsal period (generally on some weekends, tbd). Any available performers and crew are expected to help move sets/costumes/etc into The Dairy Arts Center on Monday, November 30th, and strike after the show.

Move-In & Tech Week

Move-In and Tech runs are Monday-Wednesday, November 30th through December 2nd

All cast and crew must attend every Tech rehearsal.

Strike
Sunday, December 13th. All cast and crew are required to participate.

Conflicts
Please list all conflicts between September 14th- November 23rd
Tech Week (Nov 30- Dec 2) and Strike (Dec 13th) are mandatory.

Other Expectations

Roles are paid a one-time $35 stipend. Cast members contribute to tech support during rehearsals and assist with move-in and strike. Patrons may donate to the actors at performances.
Performers will participate in marketing campaigns and agree to be photographed/filmed for show promotion.
Submissions

Actors: Complete the audition form and also email a headshot and resume to auditions@theupstartcrow.org.
Backstage crew: Submit a technical resume to the same address.
Confirmations will be sent after registrations are reviewed.
