Website Stagebugz Theatre

Safety Standards: Our company uses the Community Standards for Theatre for Colorado

Stagebugz Theatre is currently seeking guest teaching artists to lead short specialty workshops for our summer camp participants! These workshops are provided during the camp day as a way to inspire students by exposing them to many different artistic careers and giving them the opportunity to meet and learn from industry professionals. We would love to invite members of our community to work with our instructors on leading a 30-45 minute workshop in their area of interest! Past topics have included:

  • Q&A or masterclass led by actors with professional experience
  • Audition Masterclass
  • Stage Combat
  • Improv
  • Accents & Dialects
  • Acting Shakespeare
  • Intro to Reading Music
  • Special Effects Makeup
  • Directing
  • Storytelling/Playwriting
  • Acting for the Camera
  • Hip-hop dance
  • Ballroom dance
  • Yoga
Workshops are certainly not limited to these topics; we would love to hear your ideas or come up with a topic based on your expertise!

Camps for students of various ages are offered M-F June 3-14 and 24-28, and July 8-19 and 22-26 from 9-1 p.m. Guests will only be needed for one day during this time, which will be determined based on your availability and the age group the topic is best suited for.

The overall time commitment is approximately 30 minutes for the workshop, plus an optional 15-minute virtual planning meeting with the camp instructors.

Camps will be held at Dance Art Media Studios and Columbine United Church in Littleton. Workshops can also be led virtually for non-local guests.

Negotiable; please send your rate with your application. Note that, as a small non-profit, we are unfortunately not able to offer more than $30 per workshop. All instructors will be offered a free ¼ page ad in the playbills for our summer performances to promote your own businesses, services, or projects, as long as they are family-friendly and not in direct competition with Stagebugz. Volunteers are, of course, always welcome as well!

Instructor Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Do not need to be local to Colorado; workshops can be led in-person or virtually
  • Prior teaching experience is not required, but you should be comfortable working with children (ages 5-10 or 10-18) in a positive and inclusive manner
  • Should have professional training and/or experience on the topic you wish to teach
  • Must be willing to complete a background check, if asked
  • Insutrctors from other local businesses (i.e. dance studios, children’s theatres, etc.) are welcome to teach a workshop as a way to promote their organization to our students, as long as your organization is not in direct competition with Stagebugz

How To Apply

If you are interested in leading a workshop, please email with your proposed topic or area of interest, your rate, and a resume/brief description of your experience and qualifications. We will then work with you to secure a date and time. Please also reach out with any questions or if you’d like more information!
