The Pumpkin Kid: A New Musical
Skyward Productions. Non-Union. Pay: $35 per show plus Rehearsal Stipend.

Casting singer-actors aged 18+ for a new musical, The Pumpkin Kid, based on the beloved children’s book by Barry Brown & Jeff LaGreca. Music & Lyrics by Suzanne Slade & Jeff LaGreca. People of all ages. races, ethnicities, abilities/disabilities, and sexual/gender identities are welcome and encouraged to audition.

“The cynical residents of a small village are transformed by the magical pumpkin carvings of a mysterious orphan.”

The first round of auditions will be by self-tape BY AUGUST 15th, followed by in-person appointments and in-person call backs on August 18.

TO SUBMIT:
Please send a Headshot, Resume and a SELF-TAPE of you singing THIRTY-TWO bars (32) of any classic musical theater or folk song (Ashman & Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Lopez & Anderson, Pasek & Paul, Lerner & Loewe, various Disney musicals and films.)

SELF-TAPE REQUIREMENTS:
Please record a video on a device of yourself singing 32 bars of a musical theater song.
Perform with accompaniment (piano, backing track, or live instrument preferred—no a cappella).
Frame the video waist-up with good lighting and clear sound.
Slate at the beginning with your NAME & LOCATION & UNION STATUS

Production dates are mornings/matinees in October, 2026.

Please be sure that you have no performance conflicts prior to auditioning. Performance conflicts will not be accepted for this production.

Additionally, rehearsal conflicts will not be accepted once an offer is made and accepted. Excessive conflicts can and will affect casting decision
