Auditions — Upcoming Horror Play

Singular Sensation Arts is holding auditions for an upcoming horror play in the Denver area.

The title of the production will be announced soon once licensing is finalized.

We are looking for a small group of performers who are comfortable with dramatic material, suspense, and the intensity of a horror production.

Audition Information

Audition Dates:

Saturday, August 22 — 7:00–10:00 PM
Sunday, August 23 — 7:00–8:00 PM
Location:
1050 S Wadsworth Blvd
Lakewood, CO

Please prepare a 45–60 second serious dramatic monologue for your audition.

Callbacks:
Sunday, August 23 — 8:00–10:00 PM

Callbacks will consist of cold readings from the script. No prepared monologue is required for callbacks.

Actors will be notified immediately following their audition if they are needed for callbacks.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled audition time.

Compensation:

All performers who are cast will receive a $200 stipend for the production.

Stage Violence & Blood

Some roles may involve stage violence and/or stage blood. Performers should be comfortable with these elements. All physical action will be choreographed and rehearsed with safety as a priority.

Roles

Lead Female — Female, 20–35

Blind, intelligent, resilient, warm, and emotionally complex. She is navigating an increasingly dangerous situation while relying on her other senses, instincts, and determination. Requires a strong dramatic actress capable of portraying vulnerability, fear, courage, and emotional intensity throughout the production. Blind and sighted actresses are both welcome to audition for this role.

Featured Male 1 — Male, 25–40

Charismatic, confident, and intelligent. Presents himself as friendly and trustworthy, but there is more beneath the surface. Requires strong dramatic acting and the ability to shift naturally between warmth, deception, and tension.

Featured Male 2 — Male, 30–50

Older and more seasoned than Featured Male 1. Confident, street-smart, and highly convincing. Has a strong authoritative presence and the ability to manipulate others through charm and deception. Requires an actor who can convincingly project professionalism while maintaining an underlying sense of danger and calculation.

Featured Male 3 — Male, 25–50

Intelligent, calculating, and deeply unsettling. A commanding presence with a dangerous edge beneath a controlled exterior. Requires an actor capable of portraying menace without relying on exaggerated physicality.

Supporting Male 1 — Male, 20–35

Married to the Lead Female. Strong-willed, practical, and somewhat hard-edged. He cares deeply for his wife but believes she needs to regain her independence and learn to stand on her own two feet following her accident. Can come across as demanding or unsympathetic, while still having genuine affection and concern beneath the surface.
