Sew and Sing instructor

Website ROSHNI
We are a community-based Performing Arts non-profit organization, based in North Aurora and use diverse Arts activities to work with the underserved local community comprising of refugee/immigrant populations, specifically women and youth. Through our Art programs and events, we aspire to promote empathy and racial equity in the Performing Arts.
We are thrilled to start a pilot program called ‘Sew and Sing’, with the intention to promote positive well-being and an increased sense of self-worth and connection among newly arrived refugee/asylee women who may experience isolation due to sociocultural and language barriers.
With S&S, we also hope to reinforce spoken English through songs and conversations. This project is intended to take place for about 18-20 weeks throughout this year.
We are thus looking for sewing instructors, preferably those who can also sing. The project will take place on ‘two weekday’ mornings for ‘two hours’, most likely on Monday, and/or Wednesday, and/or Friday, between 9 am – 12 pm.
Dependent on the experience the compensation is ‘$40-$50/hour’. The project is slated to begin in April 2023. Please get in touch via ‘Email’ if you are interested or want to learn more.
I hope to connect with ‘you’ who is interested to share your gift and passion for sewing/singing with underserved women who will greatly benefit from this project.
