Rogue Attitude Writers is currently casting for their first event: THE OBSERVER by Graham Ray & OTHER DEVELOPING WORKS at The People’s Building in Aurora.

This is a two night event featuring live readings of selections from developing plays by local Denver playwrights. Our mission is to connect the writers with actors and an audience, providing an invaluable experience while they develop their pieces.

We are looking for a core cast of actors to participate in both nights and to read for multiple roles.

We are casting for multiple parts and have a few specific casting needs below:

The Moose by Bella O’Brien
When high school friends reunite, long kept secrets are revealed.

XOCHITL 28, Latinx, F
ROMAN.  28, Latinx, M
ELENA.  27, Latinx, F

A Winter Snowstorm by Rachael Johnson
Political opinions and long standing friendships go head to head during the 2008 presidential election.

JULIA.  39, African-American, F
LANCE.  42, African-American, M

Hattie’s Patties by Kait Berreckman-Corrado
A folk-pop musical about motherhood, friendship, and veggie burgers.

HATTIE.  20s-30s, F, (Alto, F#3-B4)
COLE.  20s-30s, M, (Tenor, F#2-F#4)

All other roles range from ages 20s-50s, with various gender identities and open to any ethnicities for:

The Eye by Babs Karney, Send in the Dragons by Laura Cline, & The Observer by Graham Ray.

How to Submit: Please send your headshot, resume, and a 30-60 second contemporary monologue to rogueattitudewriters@gmail.com. If you are interested in any of the specified casting roles, please let us know in your email. We will provide a detailed casting breakdown and character sides after your initial submission.

Virtual submissions will be accepted until 5pm MT June 15, 2024.

Rehearsals: Subject to actor availability, we would like to schedule one virtual rehearsal between the cast and writers before the performance dates. 

Performance Dates:
Sunday 7/21 6:30pm: The Observer by Graham Ray
Monday 7/22 6:30pm: Developing Works by Rogue Attitude Writers

Performance Location:
The People’s Building, 9995 E Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010

Compensation: Stipend of $50 per actor, subject to increase if we have successful fundraising and turn a profit on ticket sales.

Rogue Attitude Writers (RAW) is a diverse group of local playwrights working in a variety of styles and genres. The group was founded to cultivate community among Denver playwrights of all experience levels and stages in their careers. Our focus is creating a supportive space for writers to explore, develop and discuss their work for production and beyond.
