ArtistYear AmeriCorps Resident Teaching Artists serve as full-time teaching artists in schools/organizations across America. Explore a year as a Resident Teaching Artist! This is a genuinely transformative opportunity: RTAs receive a monthly living stipend, health insurance reimbursement, a Segal Education Award, federal education loan forbearance, and 240 hours of professional development — all while training in our Restorative Theatre™ modality and making a real difference in young people’s lives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AS A RESIDENT TEACHING ARTIST WITH MIRROR IMAGE ARTS
– Co-Facilitate Restorative Theatre™ programs with youth (ages 5–18) and devise original works
– Train in our evidence-based, trauma-informed RT modality
– Serve as a trusted adult and co-create spaces of healing & belonging
– Collaborate with MIA’s ensemble of professional theatre makers
★ Theatre experience is required.
★ Positions open now for Sept 2026 – June 2027
COMPENSATION:
- Federal school loan forbearance during your service year.
- The Segal Education Award following successful completion of your service year.
