NON-EQUITY ADULTS GENERAL AUDITIONS
AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS:
Auditions will be held on Monday September 9th, 10am to 2pm.
 Call backs will be held on Tuesday September 10th, 10am to 2pm, as needed. 
Miners Alley is auditioning for All Adult Roles. Miners Alley Playhouse is an Equity SPT 1 professional theater and abides by all Equity rules and regulations.
Auditions will be by invitation, based on submissions received.
Deadline for submissions is Friday, September 6, 2024.

 Actors scheduled to audition should bring a prepared monologue 1-2 minutes long.
Actors scheduled for callbacks will be provided sides and/or short monologue moments from the script.
Whether scheduled for auditions and/or callbacks, please bring a headshot and resume.

For SLEEPY HOLLOW all roles are non-union and are paid $750 for rehearsal and currently scheduled shows, plus $75 for each additional show added to the schedule. For THE NUTCRACKER all roles are non-union and are paid $750 for rehearsal and currently scheduled shows, plus $75 for each additional show added to the schedule.

REHEARSALS
Daytime Rehearsals for SLEEPY HOLLOW will be scheduled between September 23 and October 12, 2024, based on actor availability.
Daytime Rehearsals for NUTCRACKER will be scheduled between November 4 and December 7, 2024, based on actor availability.

MATYA ~ MINERS ALLEY THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES:
Features shows that rely on audience participation and scripts written to appeal to ages 3 and up. The shows are performed by adult actors and show lengths run just under 1 hr. Actors will be expected to interact with the kids in the lobby before the show and say good-bye to the kids after the show as the audience leaves. There is also a lot of audience interaction during the show. The actors will be speaking with the audience, sometimes getting them to answer back, and even bringing kids on stage to help with the story. Some weekday performances have a short Q&A after the show for the students.

FOR SLEEPY HOLLOW SEEKING:
● DIEDRICH “KNICK” KNICKERBOCKER/BALTUS VAN TASSEL – (any ethnicity, male identifying, age range 35-65) – The author/narrator of the story, also plays the father of Katrina, a wealthy landowner/farmer. Gregarious, engaging and friendly, but a bit full of himself.


● DAME KNICKERBOCKER/DAME VAN TASSEL – (any ethnicity, female identifying, age range 35-65) – Knick’s wife and inspiration, also plays Katrina’s mother and keeps Knick/Baltus in line.


● ICHABOD CRANE – (any ethnicity, male identifying, age range 20-40) — The superstitious schoolteacher who is scared of his own shadow, yet believes he is the bravest man and most eligible bachelor around.


● KATRINA VAN TASSEL – (any ethnicity, female identifying, age range 20-40) – Daughter of Baltus & Dame Van Tassel, a smart, curious girl who has yet to make up her mind exactly what she wants.


● BROM BONES – (any ethnicity, male identifying, age range 20-40) — A brash, fun-loving, headstrong young man who loves Katrina, loves to tease Ichabod, and heads up the Sleepy Hollow gang.


● DAN/DANIEL/DANI/DANIELLE – (any ethnicity, male, female or non-binary identifying, age range 20-40) — Plays everything from a school kid to a member of the Sleepy Hollow gang. Gets to help wrangle the kids who help out as characters in the play.

FOR NUTCRACKER SEEKING:
● MRS STAHLBAUM/THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY – (any ethnicity, female identifying, age range 35-65) – The head of the Stahlbaum household, Marie’s mother and Fritzi’s aunt. Also plays the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker’s most trusted subject in the Kingdom Under the Tree.


● FREDERICA/FREDERICK “FRITZI”/MOUSE KING – (any ethnicity, male or female identifying, age range 20-30) – Marie’s cousin who is a bit immature, but grows and learns a lot during the story. Also plays the Nutcracker’s nemesis, the Mouse King and is intent on the Nutcracker’s downfall so he/she can take over the Kingdom Under the Tree.


● MARIE STAHLBAUM – (any ethnicity, female identifying, age range 20-30) — Fritzi’s older cousin, not terribly mature, but she is trying. Is gifted the Nutcracker from her Godfather Drosselmeier and helps the Nutcracker in his battles with the Mouse King.


● HERR DROSSELMEIER – (any ethnicity, male identifying, age range 35-65) — Fritzi’s and Marie’s Godfather. He is a toymaker who brings gifts to the cousins, and introduces them to the magical story of the Nutcracker.


● NUTCRACKER/ERNST – (any ethnicity, male identifying, age range 20-40) — The Ruler of the Kingdom Under the Tree. Also plays Ernst, Drosselmeier’s nephew.
