Local Theater Company (LTC) in Boulder, Colorado is seeking a highly motivated and established development professional to continue the growth of our Company including donor stewardship, corporate sponsorship and grant and foundation support.

The Director of Development is responsible for maintaining and growing LTC’s comprehensive fundraising programs in furtherance of our mission. This is a part-time position (approx. 25 hours per week). The Director of Development maintains strong working relationships with LTC’s board of directors and manages individual, corporate and foundation philanthropy. The Director of Development serves as LTC’s lead major gift officer and oversees all development events with the support of Executive Producer.

Responsibilities include: providing leadership to ensure that LTC’s fundraising programs are strong and progressively increasing, especially with respect to: the Fierce Fund (LTC’s sustaining fund), individual contributions, and all grants (including SCFD, Boulder Arts Commission, Shubert Foundation).

Essential Duties:
Develop and execute a successful development plan and budget that aligns with LTC’s strategic priorities.
Design, implement and coordinate reporting to the Board as to the development budget, goals, and progress.
Successfully establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors as well corporate sponsors
Lead planning and implementation of special campaigns (capital and reserves campaigns) as approved by the board.
Oversee the submission of foundation LOIs, grant requests, proposals, and reporting.
Lead and assist with Board and Committees engagement in development activities including identifying prospects for sponsorships and events planning for engagement, including annual gala, fundraising events and other donor stewardship events.
As part of the management team, engage in strategic decision-making, short/long-term strategic planning, and development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices.
Relate well interpersonally – establish, maintain, and foster positive relationships externally and within LTC. Build a consensus among staff and volunteers to enhance excellence in development programs and activities.

Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate has a passion or curiosity for new play development and theater.
Minimum of four years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience in annual and major gifts, capital campaigns, sponsorship, and program management
Proven analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills, coupled with the ability to create and execute realistic priorities in an emerging fundraising office
Demonstrated experience in building successful relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors
Knowledge of national arts philanthropy and Colorado fundraising climate preferred

Physical Functions: Sitting for up to 4.0 hours at a time and using computer and phone for lengthy periods

Rate: This is a part-time position. approx. 25 hours a week. $40K annually.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Office hours are generally 9am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday with some evenings and weekends required, such as performances, fundraisers, and participation in Board meetings. Flexible scheduling and remote office currently available.
