What is KidStage?
KidStage is a national children’s after-school drama program. Our mission is to provide a fun, dynamic, physical and interactive learning experience for kids based in theatre. KidStage provides excellent experience for you in working with a group of children and teaching them how to be self-confident. As an instructor you will conduct basic auditions with the kids, cast the play, and then rehearse with the children over 8 weeks. You will then Direct the final production that the kids take part in.
Why work for KidStage?
Our instructors make between $30/hr to $45/hr (based on experience and performance). Raises are given quickly to instructors who exhibit great professionalism in teaching the classes, punctuality, and that their students love working with them. The schedule is flexible in that you decide which classes you want to commit to for an 8-week period. Working with kids is rewarding and soul-satisfying work in that you are helping impact the next generation in their love and appreciation for the arts, as well as help them build life-long skills to aid them be successful in any endeavor they choose to pursue in their future.
When are the classes held?
KidStage classes are mostly taught at local elementary schools in their music rooms after school. Classes typically run from 3:00-4:30 pm or 3:30-5:00 pm give or take 30 minutes on either side. You will know all the times and dates of the classes prior to your approving that you will be taking on the class. Most sessions run for 8 weeks and the children then do one final production for the community at the end of 8 week session.
What are the qualifications?
You must have reliable transportation to get to the classes on time. We are looking for energetic and responsible people who LOVE to work with kids. It is preferred that you already have some experience working with multiple kids in a leadership role. Education and Theater majors are typically great fits for this job. Also you have to have an active email account that you check regularly as well as have basic Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge. You must have your own cellphone for texting/voice communication. All of our instructors are required to respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours. You must also pass a background check prior to starting any work.
