Extracurricular High School Director

Extracurricular Theatre Director, grades 9-12
Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS) theatre company Thunder TheatreWorks is seeking an additional director for after school productions for the 2023-2024 school year. Successful candidates will have experience directing middle and/or high school productions, working in a variety roles in theatre, and working within tight educational budgets. The role is stipended based on the number of rehearsal hours. Successful candidates will also have an opportunity to direct a spring production. High School Director
Grades: 9-12
Full length fall production
Cast: 4-10
Stage Management/Design Team: High School students
Auditions: Wednesday August 23, 2:00-5:00. Callbacks Thursday 4:05-7:00.
Rehearsals: Start August 28. Schedule is potentially flexible. Typically rehearsals run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, from 4:05-6:00. Could drop one day and add Wednesdays from 2-4 (early release day at GALS.) Total rehearsal hours to equal 36 regular, 12 tech. Tech days are Friday, Monday, and Tuesday the week leading up to performance, 4:05-8:00pm. Strike on Monday after performances, 4:05-5:30.
Performances: Date TBD, early October, Thursday and Friday, start time 6:00pm. All called at 5:00. Only two performances.

Total anticipated hours: around 62-65
Stipend: $1150
