Job Title: Facilities and Production Associate 

Location: In-Person, Denver CO 

Terms: Full-time 

Reports To: Production Coordinator CDLE COMPS Order: Non-Exempt

Colorado Ballet Company is a Denver-based non-profit organization celebrating 62 years of excellence. Colorado Ballet’s mission is to present exceptional classical ballet and contemporary dance through performances, training, education and community engagement while inspiring and growing an increasingly diverse audience base. Under the direction of Artistic Director Gil Boggs, Colorado Ballet presents more than 50 performances annually to sold-out audiences in the 2,080-seat Ellie Caulkins Opera House. 

The Raydean Acevedo Colorado Ballet Academy serves over 1,200 students each year, from toddlers to seniors. Colorado Ballet’s Education and Community Engagement programming engages with students, teachers, families, people with disabilities, and lifelong learners, making more than 35,000 contacts in 300 schools and organizations annually. 

Position Overview 

Colorado Ballet is looking for an individual to join the Production Department at the Colorado Ballet Armstrong Center for Dance. This position supports the production requirements of the Education and Community Engagement Department, the studio needs of the professional company, and the performance needs of the Colorado Ballet Academy. This position also supports the Armstrong Center for Dance facility’s needs. Those needs include scheduling maintenance, ensuring permits are current, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. This position requires someone energetic, creative, and good at self-management and multitasking. 

Key Duties and Functions 

Facilities 

  • Schedule regular building maintenance, including cleaning, fire alarm checks, elevator permitting, and grounds. 
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise. Issues may include booking graffiti removal, calling vendors regarding plumbing issues, etc. 
  • Process invoices for Facilities-related work. 

Production 

  • Look after all technical elements in the ACD Black Box theatre, including lighting and sound requirements for academy performances and outside hires, as well as equipment maintenance. 
  • Supports the Education and Community Engagement department for school performances. Such duties include booking and driving a truck to performances and setting up the dance floor. Setting up and running sound and lights. Occasionally requires overnight stays. 
  • Look after technical requirements in ballet studios, including ensuring sound and video equipment is in good working order and troubleshooting any issues. Schedule piano tunings.

  • Maintains archival performance recordings. Specifically, loading existing DVDs onto virtual platforms. 
  • Completing requests from dancers or artistic staff for video or music requirements. 

Position Requirements 

  • Strong theatre technical skills 
  • Excellent organization and communication skills 
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance 
  • Requirement to lift 40lbs

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information: 

Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000
