Position Overview

Under minimal supervision the Company Manager (CM) is primarily responsible for assisting the Artistic Director, all administrative duties involving the Company Dancers, and serves as the contact person for all matters related to touring and guest artist relations.

Key Duties and Functions

  • Contracts all dancers and trainee dancers of the Company and ensures compliance with the AGMA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).  Ensures that personnel paperwork is properly signed, filed, and provided to appropriate organization departments.  Contracts guest performers and musical soloists for Colorado Ballet programming. Acts as main liaison between dancers and management.
  • Has complete knowledge of the AGMA collective bargaining agreement to assist in scheduling and other work rules.
  • Is responsible for typing and posting the daily rehearsal schedule and performance boards.
  • Organizes and coordinates all logistical arrangements (transportation, accommodations, per diems, etc.) for touring engagements as well as guest and production artists.  Maintains all touring records and files.
  • Submits and monitors payroll for dancers and ancillary production staff (pianists, teachers, health staff)
  • Assists Colorado Ballet’s negotiation team with negotiations of union contracts.
  • Assists artistic staff with dancer health needs and coordinates physical therapy care and workers compensation cases.
  • Creates and maintains budgets for all tours.  Maintains portions of the Artistic budget relevant to dancer salaries and benefits.
  • Is responsible for processing and maintaining work visas and related issues for all non-U.S. resident artists (e.g., dancers, teachers, musicians, and other artists) of the Company.
  • Provides support and assistance to artists and visiting artists of the Company.
  • Takes part in Production team meetings for planning and execution of company productions.
  • Schedules and manages annual audition tour.
  • Coordinates catering and hospitality for dancers and production staff as needed during performances.
  • Orders presentation flowers and gifts for guests.
  • Prepare and submit to marketing update of website information on audition procedures and policies.
  • Coordinates parking for dancers and staff at the theater

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic theater operations required; knowledge of ballet/dance company operations a plus.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours during productions at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.
  • Touring requires long days and some driving. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be proficient with video conferencing applications and Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook calendar management and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to manage logistical details such as transportation, accommodations, per diem, visa arrangements, contract interpretation, and scheduling.
  • Must be able to communicate in a manner that ensures clear and mutual understanding of information both verbally and in writing.
  • The company manager must be resourceful and flexible and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate experience handling sensitive and confidential information.

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information:

Salary: $51,000-54,000
