Stephen Sondheim redefined the Broadway musical through his genius lyrics, catchy melodies, and complex characters. More than a musical revue of his indelible five-decade career, Sondheim on Sondheim is an intimate portrait of the famed songwriter – his story and his inspiration in his own words. Get an inside look at Steve’s personal life, artistic process, and legacy through the use of exclusive video interviews and performances of his exceptional songbook.

Auditions to be held:

Monday, February 13, 2023, 5 – 8 pm, Pluss Theater, Mizel Arts and Culture Center, 350 S. Dahlia St.

Callbacks:

Monday, February 27, 2023, 6 – 9 pm, Pluss Theater, Mizel Arts and Culture Center, 350 S. Dahlia St.    Once notified of a callback, songs to prepare will be provided via email.

Audition requirement:

32 bars of a Sondheim song; cuttings clearly marked.  Please bring updated headshot and resume and arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition slot.

Roles available:

3 women – any age range and voice part

2 men – any age range and voice part

All other roles have been cast.  All actors must be vaccinated.  AEA and non-union contracts will be offered.  AEA salaries are scale and non-union salaries $1000. for the run of the production.

Rehearsals:  End of September evenings thru opening.

Performances:  October 27 – November 19, 2023

Fridays/ Saturdays @ 7:30pm

Sundays @ 2pm
