Set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who “are anybody” come to have their hair done.  Steel Magnolias is a comedy-drama by Robert Harling about a group of Southern women who share their lives and loves. The play takes place over four scenes spanning three years, and the play’s title suggests that the female characters are delicate like magnolias but tough like steel.
