BAS BLEU THEATRE COMPANY GENERAL MANAGER

Job Description

The General Manager (GM) reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for management and supervision of the business and day-to-day activities that are the infrastructure that supports the artistic mission, projects and productions of the theatre. This is a part-time position. The salary is $20,000

Overall responsibilities include:

Coordinates and supervises the fiscal management of the BBTC, maintaining clear records and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Reports monthly to the Board of Directors on status of all management and fiscal considerations.

Working with the Artistic Director (AD) and the Production Manager (PM), negotiates and administers all contracts related to BBTC activities as required by individual activities and programs of the company.

With AD and PM, supervises in-house staff and volunteers.

Assists HR Committee and Board representatives in hiring/firing in-house staff and contract personnel.

In communication with the AD and individual program directors, plans for and organizes implementation of marketing strategies that promote individual projects produced by BBTC.

In communication with the AD and individual program directors builds community awareness of BBTC programs and activities.

In communication with AD and assigned Board committees, conducts specific fund raising activities.

In communication with PM, organizes and coordinates volunteer participation and support of BBTC’s productions and activities.

Maintains the BBTC theatre facility, keeping it in good operating order for public assembly and artistic production, and in compliance with public building regulations.

Acts as Management spokesperson for BBTC, and is the day-to-day public face of BBTC.

Hold bi-weekly staff meetings.

Supervise relationships with all vendors.

Create and sign contracts and settlements

Obtain performance rights for each show

Obtain scripts for each shows

Oversee distribution of marketing materials, including but not limited to:

Season ticket renewal letter

Season brochure

Main Stage shows: Playbill, posters, and postcards

Reader’s Theatre: Playbill

Special Events: Playbill
