Website Aurora Fox Arts Center

Safety Standards: Our company uses the Community Standards for Theatre for Colorado

The Aurora Fox will hold a combined general audition for all roles in our remaining Season 39 shows, “Around the World in 80 Days” and “Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Aurora Fox Christmas Show.” Auditions will take place in scheduled five-minute appointments on June 15 from 11-3PM and on June 17 from 4-8PM. Callbacks will follow by invitation only.

If you have been cast in a Fox show in the last five years, you do not need to attend the general audition. Please contact Jen Orf, Production Manager at jorf@auroragov.org to register your interest.

The Aurora Fox operates under an SPT agreement with Actors Equity Association. Equity members are encouraged to audition and will be considered for any role. (Please be prepared to show your Equity Card at the audition check-in.) SPT rates under our current contract are $375/week plus health and pension. Non-equity rates are $375/week.

We are currently only able to cast actors with their own local housing.

“Around the World in 80 Days”
Directed by Richard R. Cowden
Rehearsals September 3-October 4, 2024
Performances October 5-October 27, 2024

Embark on a fast-paced journey with wealthy Englishman Phileas Fogg and his loyal French valet, Passepartout, who have wagered they can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days! Doggedly pursued by Detective Fix, they set the timer on a riotous and suspenseful race-against-the-clock romp. Traveling by boat and train, they visit exotic locales and meet a wide array of quirky characters…and an elephant!

“Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Aurora Fox Christmas Show”
Directed by Steven J. Burge
Rehearsals October 28-November 29, 2024
Performances November 30-December 22, 2024

Five nimble actors play dozens of roles in this hilariously fast-paced and highly imaginative staging of the world’s most famous holiday tale! No, not the one with the kid and the BB gun… the other one… that’s not the green fuzzy guy… or the one with Will Ferrell. We’re talking about the one with the three ghosts and the dead guy wearing chains. Ebenezer Scrooge and friends terrorize the good citizens of the Aurora Fox in search of redemption and the true spirit of the holiday season. This riotous Dickens mashup is wacky fun for the entire family!

Both shows feature ensemble casts where most actors play multiple characters. Ability to quickly shift and to create easily differentiated characters is crucial. For details about the characters in both shows, see CASTING INFORMATION on our audition info page.

Auditions will be held in 5 minute time slots on Saturday, June 15 from 11AM-3PM and Monday, June 17 from 3:30AM-7:30PM. If you are interested but unable to attend one of these days, please contact Production Manager Jen Orf at jorf@auroragov.org for options.

Actors of all genders, ethnicities and abilities are encouraged to audition. All actors may be considered for any role in either show.

Please prepare:

  • Two comedic monologues approximately one minute each (contemporary or classical). Total Audition not to exceed 3 minutes.
  • One of your monologues should showcase your abilities with an accent of your choice.
  • Please show some physicality in your audition- you don’t need to dance, but we would like to see how you move and how you use movement to further the storytelling in your monologue.
