The Arvada Historical Society is looking for volunteers to portray historical figures who were key in the development of the city of Arvada from 1859 to 1910. We are looking for 3-4 men or women who can bring to life historical figures by performing a 5-7 minute script. The historical figures include George Swadley, an entrepenuer and irrigation canal owner; Albert Barth, a young man who was orphaned at 16, raised his younger siblings, and upon emigrating from Germany to Arvada played an important role in building the Arvada water tower and providing clean drinking water to the town; and Reverend Rhodes – one of the first area ministers, one of the first beekeeper commissioners, and a canal owner. Read throughs, Dress rehearsal Sept 14 from 12:30 to 1:30, and performance Sept 21 ( perform for 4 tours – a 4-hour commitment).
