Website All In Ensemble

Our brand new theatre company, All In Ensemble, invites YOU to audition for its very first production, this summer — Sagittarius Ponderosa by MJ Kaufman, directed by Tal Arnold.

Set under the protective branches of a matriarchal pine, Sagittarius Ponderosa is a delicate, dreamy, down to earth story about identity, family, the power of naming, and our cyclical need to evolve and grow.

Archer (still Angela to his family) doesn’t want to move back to his childhood home in eastern Oregon when his father falls ill — because coming into his true self could mean cutting the roots that sustain him. But at night, under the oldest, wisest Ponderosa, he meets a stranger who knows the history of the forests and the sadness of losing endangered things. As the year wheels around, ghosts walk, masks fall, and families re-form, in this beautiful, magically real tale.

Archer – Genderqueer. Archer to himself, Angela to his family. Twenty-nine.
Pops – Archer’s dad. Sixties.
Grandma – She doesn’t hear very well. Eighties.
Owen – Semester intern at the nature conservancy. Twenty-nine.
Mom – Archer’s mom. Sixties.

Auditions will be Saturday May 20 from 2 to 8pm, at Denver Kung Fu studio, 1832 South Broadway, 80210 — with call backs on Sunday May 21 from 2 to 5pm at the same venue.

We’d love to hear a monologue, around 2 minutes long — either bring one you’ve prepared, or we’ll provide one on the day. And we might well play with some other games and exercises too — each audition will be about 10 minutes, and a lot of fun!

It would be great if you can grab a spot that suits you, to help us organize the day, but if nothing seems available at a time that fits, simply come along to the studio when you can on Saturday May 20, and we’ll see you as soon as possible

We expect to open the show June 23 and run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through July 9 — and rehearsals are planned Monday and Wednesday evenings, plus Saturday afternoons, starting May 22 if possible for our cast. For the moment, our venue and rehearsal space are TBD, but will be confirmed very soon!

Actors will be paid a stipend of $200 for this first AIE production.
