To the Moon, an On-Demand, Streaming Virtual Drama about Domestic Violence – (March 15th through April 11th, 2021)
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until April 11, 2021
Creede Repertory Theatre presents an on-demand, streaming virtual performance of the drama, To the Moon, Beth Kander’s gripping new work. This workshop version of this stunning docu-drama is based on over 200 surveys and 20 in-person interviews with survivors of domestic violence. To the Moon lifts up the riveting stories of these survivors, complete with humor, revelation, and tragedy. Because “statistics are not the most powerful way to change someone’s mind. Stories are.” Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been told we are safer at home, but for many in the United States, home is not safe. “No survivor owes us their story, but when someone shares it we do owe them our attention, our support, and our commitment to help make things better.” Content Advisory: To the Moon contains descriptions of domestic abuse and some strong language. For Domestic Violence support, visit www.thehotline.org or call 800-799-SAFE (7233).
