Ballet Melange presents The Nutcracker, a full-length ballet performed at the Lakewood Cultural Center. This holiday classic, appropriate for all ages, transports us to a land of magic and dreams that come true. At the Stahlbaum’s Christmas eve celebration, Uncle Drosselmeyer’s gift of a Nutcracker doll to his niece Masha leads to an enchanted adventure involving first love, victorious battles, and a visit to the Land of the Sweets. This production is choreographed and staged by Elizabeth Shipiatsky, after Vainonen and Petipa, and features elaborate costumes from Russia and Ukraine and original projection designs by Jill Carter. Ballet Melange is a registered Colorado 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dance trainee and performance company.
