An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until March 29, 2020

Presented by THEATREdART in Colorado Springs – the show has been postponed. Set in 1970s and ’80s, Puerto Rican Nocturne is a re-imagining of the infamous Cerro Maravilla incident, in which undercover police officers, led by Alejandro González Malavé, murdered two Puerto Rican independence activists. The event became a prime example of popular revolt being eradicated during a time of unimaginable trauma. The story is told in a dreamlike narrative through the perspective of González Malavé, whose patriotism leads him to commit an atrocious act, and Adria, the mother of one of the victims, who through the death of her only son, questions her identity, life as an activist, and relationship to God.
