ONE WAY-BACK DAY brings African, Black, Gullah, and GeeChee American traditional oral folklore and stories to kinetic, dynamic, explosive life. With Lettice as your guide, you’ll encounter sea dragons, a talking red fish, magical talking eggs, and a perfect daughter (who just happens to be a yam). You’ll revisit the past, jump forward generations, explore historic waters, and ultimately reconcile a fraught familial relationship. And so much more.

After supporting the development of this breathtakingly original piece, The Catamounts are proud to present its world-premiere here at the Dairy.

Creative directed and written by Tresha Farris with James Brunt, James Farris, Ilaesia Gray, Peter Trinh, Chelsea Frye and Sam Gilstrap. Directed by Alicia “Lisa” Young and Choreographed by Artie Thompson.

All ages welcome.
