American Addict: A Devised Piece (Directed by Jennifer McCray Rincon) is a new performance work in progress that will address the current crisis of drug and alcohol addiction in our community and the nation as a whole. By interviewing addicts in recovery, their friends and family, healthcare workers and professionals, and by studying the disease of addiction in depth, Jennifer McCray Rincon and the Visionbox Ensemble are developing a script with the primary purpose of removing the social stigma and guilt and shame that keeps so many addicts from finding recovery.

On February 13th at 7:00pm, Visionbox will host a FREE staged reading of the working script for American Addict at Champa Studio (1245 Champa) at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Doors open and live music starts at 6:30pm.
