Aly is a modern retelling of the classic Arabian tale of Aladin and the Jinn. The plot centers on Aly, a street-smart young woman, who is the dancing queen of her neighborhood. After foiling the kidnap of Erik, heir apparent to a multi-million dollar tech company, Aly is recruited to procure a collector’s item that results in a fast-paced adventure, taking her from the dungeons to the grand ball, and the trials and temptations along the way.

A magical tale where ambitions collide with empathy, greed wages war with dreams, and destiny has a tryst with free will, this thrilling and entertaining dance-centric drama, will have you question, what price would you pay for 3 wishes? And the power we each hold within ourselves.

Deepali Lindblom, Roshni’s founder, and Artistic Director has co-written the play with Nigel Knutzen and will also direct the play. With a sizzling mix of Hip-Hop, Bollywood, and Middle-eastern dance this play has a unique and creative set. At the play’s end, the audience is invited to join in for a dance, thus creating a rich participatory experience.
