Nominees for CTG Special Henry Awards

The Colorado Theatre Guild has added four categories to this year's Henry Awards. They are:

Special Achievement in Educational/Youth Theatre: This year, we thought we'd switch it up a bit and specify that the Children's Theatre Award would be given to companies that have kids (18 years of age and under) performing for audiences, with the intention of alternating each year, back to programs that have adults performing for the kids.

Children's Theatre Nominees are:

Catchpenny Theatre
Denver Center Theatre Academy
Curious New Voices
Aurora Fox 'Little Foxes'
Northglenn Youth Theate
Peanut Butter Players

Props/Set Dressing: We combined the two because the props designer is so often the same as the person who does the set dressing. Examples of outstanding props would include anything unique that the designer had to build from scratch, or very difficult-to-find period pieces. Set Dressing would be anything that enhances the set after its designed and built.

Props/Set Dressing Nominees are:

Beki Pineda
Kay Chambers
Chris Campbell and Amy Stringe

Scenic Painting: There are beautiful sets, of course. And some are made even more beautiful by the scenic painting -- a relatively under-appreciated art.

Scenic Painting Nominees are:

Daniel Lowenstein-Town Hall
Jill Fives-Arvada
Gillian Waggoner-Vintage
Erin Leonard-Denver Vic
Michael Duran-Shadow

Regional Theatre: This award represents all of the outstanding work being done in Colorado outside of the seven SCFD counties.

Regional Theatre Nominees are:

Thunder River Theatre - Carbondale, CO
Backstage Theatre - Breckenridge, CO

These awards are not voted on by the Henry judges. The winners are determined by the Colorado Theatre Guild Board of Directors based on nominations made by YOU.
