Playwriting Organizations
Colorado Dramatists

COLORADO DRAMATISTS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving playwrights and supporting theatre artists in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region.

Through our efforts, we plan to enlarge audiences for new works throughout the Rocky Mountain Region while supporting Colorado and regional playwrights throughout the writing and development process. Our membership averages over 100 actors, directors. playwrights and others interested in new works All members receive our newsletter and are eligible for readings of their plays. In addition, members receive free or discounted admission to our special events and workshops, as well as discounts at selected theaters.

Write Angle Productions

Write Angle Productions is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting playwrights and developing new scripts for production. Our plan is to have a space of our own so we can produce the plays written by the members. Most theaters are developed by producers, artistic directors, or actors, but not playwrights. We are trying to correct this oversight. The play is the foundation of the theatre, and so, a theatre developed by playwrights is a direction often overlooked.

TV has become a desirable place for playwrights, and not only because of the money. The negative stigma that once used to cause playwrights to turn down their noses at the small screen has all but vanished.

"On Your Feet" Monthly Workshop for Playwrights, Directors and Actors

The Edge Theatre Company @ the e-project is excited to announce our new program to highlight the works of local playwrights.

"ON YOUR FEET" is a new monthly workshop process that brings playwrights, directors, and actors together to read and
lightly stage three to eight scenes based on the playwright's submissions and the number of actors and directors in attendance.
Directors have 1.5 to 2 hours to bring the scenes to life before we gather to share the scenes with each other.

The objectives of "ON YOUR FEET," are as follows:

To build a creative home for playwrights, directors, and actors.
To develop new plays with the intention of moving them into staged readings and full length productions.
To explore relationships with new playwrights, directors, and actors.
ACTORS: Attach a resume and headshot
DIRECTORS: Attach a resume
PLAYWRIGHTS: Please forward your entire script, noting which scene you would like to present (about 10-15 pages)
to theedgesubmissions@gmail.com
